Persuasive Materials

Hi students, today's blog task will be:

1. Post the persuasive resources files or links you have found in the COMMENT SECTION of the blog.
(Paste the URL links of photos or videos. If you chose a site just post the link to the site)

MAKE SURE the sites or images do not contain any inappropriate content*

2. Identify the authors objective(s) with the material you've chosen.

3. Determine (and comment on) the persuasive strategies used (refer to persuasive strategies presentation)

• What are they?

• Do they work well? Explain.

Example:

This is a picture propaganda used during World War II, it attempted to persuade people to invest in war bonds. You can tell the author or creator of such propaganda wanted to shock people and promote fear.

Due to the fear the propaganda evokes, the persuasive strategy used is clearly Pathos. It definitely must have worked in the time period.  I'm sure once people, specially women, saw this they felt very vulnerable to the Japanese threat during the war.
